Snow

Wesley has been waiting all winter for it to snow.  He went to school on Tuesday when it was raining and came home to a yard covered in snow.  He was so excited when I picked him up he quickly got bundled up and headed out.  He wanted to drive his ranger in the snow but the tires spun and wouldn't go anywhere.  He ran around chasing Max and throwing snowballs at him.  He thought that was absolutely hilarious.

Of course he found a rain puddle to jump in.

I told Wesley that he had to wait until his Dad got home to make a snowman.  Had just a few minutes to make one before it was too dark.

Making changes

A few weeks ago we started to clear out the study and change it to the new playroom.  Wesley helped us paint for a while then Mark finished up painting. The new playroom is much smaller than the old one was but it seems to work just fine.

We needed the old playroom set up as the babies nursery.  We got new cribs and dressers delivered a few weeks back and of course Wesley was there to help assemble. Hope to have the babies nursery complete in the next few weeks.

19 weeks

This morning we went for our 19 week check up with the neonatal specialist. Both babies look great; Baby A weighs 9 oz. and heart rate is 153, Baby B weighs 11 oz. with a heart rate of 152.  Baby B seems to be more active than Baby A.  This appointment they were able to get a good view of both babies hearts and said they looked perfect. The Dr said that he saw no signs of the twin to twin, which we are very happy about. I am able to feel kicks every once in a while but hope Mark and Wesley can feel them soon.  Here are a few pictures to leave you with.  We go back in two weeks to see the specialist again.

This is baby A's profile.  If you look to the right of his face you can see baby B's leg.  We tried to get a picture with both babies both they were too active.

We hope to have names finalized pretty soon!

Finally!!!

We are excited to announce that we are FINALLY expecting.  I took a test early in November and it showed to be positive.  At that time we called the dr and did blood work and had an ultrasound at 5 weeks.  Everything looked great and blood work increased as the week progressed.  We also learned from the first ultrasound that we had two sacs, yes I said two sacs.  Mark was not with me during this appointment so I had to call him at work once the appointment was over and let him know.  We were both in shock, but very excited.  Due to the three miscarriages that we have had over the past two years I had to have my progesterone levels tested every other day for a week at that point.  We went back every week for a sonogram.
The week after Thanksgiving we went in for our 7-week ultrasound hoping to hear two heartbeats.  We were very surprised when we saw two babies in one sac and then another baby in the second sac.  All had heartbeats; the two babies in one sac were the same size and had strong heartbeats, but the single baby was a little smaller and had a weaker heartbeat.  The Dr. told us that the single baby could possible not make it, but we were hopeful.  After that appointment Mark and I had a lot to take in; 3 babies all-natural that was just crazy.  At our 8 week sonogram the single baby had caught up in length and heartbeat to the two babies and the Dr was shocked but said that it still had a chance of not making it.  We continued to pray that the babies grow strong and be healthy.  At the 10 week sonogram we found out that we lost the single baby at about 9 weeks, but that the twins were growing perfectly and had strong heartbeats.  Dr. said that my body would absorb the third baby eventually and shouldn’t cause any harm to the twins.  We had mixed emotions about this news; sad because we lost another baby but relieved because now the twins get to stay in longer.  At this point we were told that we would see a specialist along with the OBGYN.
On January 22nd we went to the specialist and were told to expect to be there a long time due to the detailed ultrasound.  The technician did an ultrasound and showed us all of the bones, brain, heart, stomach and much more of both babies. Both babies were very active during this process and made it difficult for her to get a few pictures, but she was very patient. The babies heartbeat was right at 160 and they weighted in at 4 oz. and measured at 15 weeks.  After she took all the measurements the Dr came in and went over the pictures and told us that the babies shared the same placenta.  This could cause a problem but at this time he saw perfect babies and didn’t see any problems. He did tell us that we would be in every 2 weeks to get an ultrasound and make sure there are not any complications.  We did find out today that they are identical twins.
Wesley is very excited that we are having two babies; he prayed for a brother for a very long time and he now will have two.  We are having twin BOYS!!

This pregnancy has been very different than when I was pregnant with Wesley.  I was starving in the beginning and was nauseous at the same time.  Thankfully this stopped about week 14.    We will continue to post pictures of each sonogram so keep checking the blog.

Christmas 2012

Chad and Christy came over on Christmas Eve because we were going to have snow on Christmas day.  We made gingerbread man cookies for Santa and Wesley opened his present from them.

We were suppose to have 3-6 inches of snow but only ended up with about an inch.  Wesley planned on playing in the snow Christmas afternoon but it was way to breezy so we just stayed in and played with all of our new toys.

Wesley's 4th birthday party

On December 8th we celebrated Wesley's birthday with his friends at Oklahoma Gold Gymnastics.  He goes every week to gymnastics and loves it; so we knew this would be the perfect place to have his party.  He had about 12 friends show up and they all had a blast. Before we went to the party we opened a few gifts from family members.

Katie made cupcakes for Wesley's party and then had a fondant robot made to fit the tops.  They turned over very cute.

I think everyone had a wonderful time, and Wesley is so blessed to have such great friends.

Wesley's class put on a performance for parents before he headed to eat lunch for their feast.  They sang songs and were so proud of themselves.

For Thanksgiving this year we headed to New Braunfels to celebrate Thanksgiving at Mark's parents house.  His sister and her family came as well.  Emily and Katie got up on Thanksgiving morning and ran a 5k. This was Emily's first 5k and she did wonderful.  We had a birthday celebration for Wesley while we were down there.  Grammy made a yummy confetti cake.

We turned the lights out so it isn't a very good picture. Listening to everyone sing.
