Texas here we come!!!!!

Yes you read that right, Texas we are coming back to stay. Marks company that transferred us to Oklahoma City is not doing so well right now, so when Mark got an oppertunity to take a new job in Houston with Southwestern Energy we decided to make the move back to Texas. We really enjoyed our short time in Oklahoma City but we are excited to come back to Houston. We will put our house on the market this week and begin to look at house in Houston in a few weeks. We will be back in Houston on June 18th. Mark starts his new job on June 21st.

5 year anniversary

On May 21st Mark and I celebrated out 5th wedding anniversary!! My brother and his girlfriend came over to watch Wesley after we put him down for bed. Thanks guys we needed a night out to enjoy ourselves. We went to a restaurant on Lake Hefner called Red Rock they had a live band that we enjoyed listening to while we waited for our table. It was nice getting to spend time to eat dinner without a screaming child.

17 months

Wesley is 17 months and we can't believe how much he has learned this month. He is picking up on words like crazy. He now knows 17 words and his favorite word is outside. This month Wesley had another ear infection and viral infection that he can't seem to get rid of. The dr said that if he has one more infection he will need to go visit an ENT. We are teaching Wesley his colors and he knows yellow, red and blue. Almost every night Mark's puts color tablets in his bath water and he loves it.

Here are a few things Wesley loves to do:

* He loves to turn the lights and fan off and on.
* He loves to give hugs, kisses and high fives to his animals, Max and Mark and I.
* When we return home from running around town Wesley helps us get Max out and he will chase him around squealing the whole time.
*Everything must open- He will grunt while pulling or trying to open something.
* He is trying to learn how to put his shoes and socks on. He get very frustrated and sometimes
doesn't want any help.
* If we are walking in the house or outside and he sees trash on the ground he will say "t t t" for
trash and want to pick it up and throw it away.

Wesley loves to show everyone his body parts that he knows. The last body part that we taught him was , yes you guessed it his tongue. He also knows his mouth, eyes, ears, knee, leg, feet, toes, hair, nose, belly button, hand and elbow. If you are not watching Wesley will lift up your shirt in the middle of the store to look at your belly button.

Touch a Truck 2010

Wesley and I are members of the Edmond MOMS Club, they hold an event called Touch a Truck to raise money for the Oklahoma Food Bank. They provide backpacks with food for school children to take home on weekends and holidays. I volunteered to take donations for the first hour and then Mark and Wesley joined me after that. Wesley didn't know what to think when he first got there but he soon wanted down and began to run to all the trucks.
The sheriff car had the song Bad Boys playing over and over. We let Wesley down and he began to dance!

Playing in the rain

One morning I decided to let Wesley go out on the back porch and watch the rain fall. A few days before this it was raining so I let him go outside to play and he hated the rain falling on his face. I thought he would stay ont he porch but he ended up playing in the rain without any shoes on and refused to come back in.

ready to go outside
His pants were soaking wet all the way to his diaper, socks red from the Oklahoma mud. Wes was walking toward a puddle he spotted by his swingset.

Ice Cream

One night after dinner we decided to let Wesley try ice cream for the first time. He really enjoyes feeding himself food so we knew that he would want his own spoon.

Wesley's first bite of ice cream. He wasn't sure about it at first but after his second bit he wanted control of the spoon.

burrrrr
Cheers, Mark and Wesley always tap their spoons or forks together and say cheers, too cute!
In the end Wesley had ice cream dripping off of his face.

Day at the zoo with friends

A few weeks back Wes and I made a trip to the Oklahoma City Zoo with a few of our good friends. When we arrived at the zoo we realized that every other school in Oklahoma was there for their school field trip, needless to say it was extremely packed.

The first animal Wes enjoyed watching was the sea lions. The zoo has a lower level where you can see the animals swimming through the water. The kids enjoyed this alot.

It was a bit chilly that day but as the morning passed we ended up taking off the sweaters!

As we were walking through the zoo to see the tortoises a peacock was walking along beside us.
The turkey ended up puffing up his feathers because there were so many children running around. Even though it was a cold morning we enjoyed spending time with our friends and hope to do it again soon.
