10 Months

Only two more months until the babies are 10 months. They are changing daily it's crazy.  We use to rock the babies until they fell asleep but now we rock them for just a few minutes then put them in their bed with their blanket and fall asleep on their own.  They have formula in their morning and lunch cup and only one bottle a day.  They are cruising from toy to toy much better now. A few weeks ago they were able to go and explore Wesley's bedroom so now all they want to do is go in and play.  They get very upset when the door is closed and they can't enter.
We haven't put a piece of food on their tray that they don't like.  Some of their favorites; meatloaf, roasted sweet potatoes, ham, turkey, chicken, all fruit, black beans, peas, carrots, green beans, squash, and broccoli.  The past few weeks we have had beautiful weather so we spend a lot of time outside, whether on walks or swinging.  They are starting to interact more and more with each other.  If one laughs then the other one will start laughing as well.
 Luke 10 months
 Evan 10 months

The babies have figured out that they can pull up on the play kitchen and turn the knobs or chew on the knobs for teething.
 Luke's first two teeth.
 Evan's first two teeth.
We recently bought a new tunnel for the boys.  It took them a few days to want to play in this.  Now Wesley loves to play along with them and they giggle and laugh while in the tunnel.
Evan still loves to drive this car.  He pushes this car across the carpet.
When I changed the sheets on the babies bed they had such a fun time climbing on the mattress and Wesley enjoyed jumping on and swishing the babies.
This month the babies had their first grilled cheese.  Every time their plate was empty they would sign "more" over and over again until I put more out for them.
Evan thought it was so fun to push Luke around in the shopping cart.

The babies are starting to open all the cabinets and drawers.  We will be installing cabinet locks soon.

First haircut

We took the boys to get their haircut over the past weekend, but they were packed so we went back during the week. Wesley decided that he needed to get his haircut as well. He hasn't had his haircut since he was about a year and a half. We have been cutting his hair because he would scream when someone else tried to do it.  He was so excited that he got his haircut, got a sucker and spicy hair.
The babies did great; sat in their chair and let them cut their hair.
Mark watched Evan get his cut while I watched Luke.  Evan sat very still and really no expression change at all; pretty serious.

The lady that cut Luke's hair had her work cut out.  Luke kept trying to push his leg out of the chair and turn around and trying to move her hands when she was cutting his hair.

Evan loved watching himself in the mirror.  I hope the next haircuts are as smooth as this one.

Spring Time

This winter seemed like it never was going to end.  As soon as the weather started warming up we would head outside to get a little fresh air.
This was the first time the twins sat in the grass.  They didn't really care for how prickly it was.  Evan has crazy hair; it is very thin so it really blows in the wind.
Can't believe he is getting so big.
 One of Evan's many faces.
Luke didn't want to stay on the blanket.  He decided to take off and explore.  Once Luke got on the grass he decided to take a small taste of the grass and decided he didn't care for it.

Wesley wanted to take the babies on a wagon ride one night after dinner.  It is very hard to get a picture with all the boys looking at the camera.  Enjoy!

Soccer

This is Wesley's second season of soccer.  He enjoyed soccer last season so we decided to sign him up again.  We were able to choose his coach and a few friends on his team.  This year his team is called the Lions and their jerseys are navy and white.

They have a 30 minute practice before the game which is very nice.  Wesley is practicing his skills.
This season we can already see a different than last seasons.  Wesley is actually starting to go after the ball but still not very aggressive to get in there and get it from someone.  We can't wait to see how much he changes this season.

Valentines Day

This was the twins first Valentines Day and they both were sick.  Mark was off on Valentine's Day because we were signing papers on our new house.  Mark got up and made Wesley waffles and heart shaped bacon with fruit for breakfast.  One of his favorite foods is bacon.  The boys opened their presents and then we got Wesley ready for school.
Luke and Evan waiting for breakfast.
Wesley enjoying his breakfast.
Wesley's class had a Valentine's party at school; they sang songs and then had a few snacks.  Mark went and watched Wesley while I stayed home with the boys.  We meet up after the party to sign papers on our house and then headed over to check out the new house and let Wesley find "treasures" the other family left behind.  We will be in this house for a long time.  Stay tuned for some updates on the house.

We have moved!!!

We started searching for houses around November. With the babies getting older they were waking up each other during nap time and sometimes during the night.  During nap time we separated the babies; Evan slept in their bedroom and Luke slept in the pack n play in our bedroom.
We looked at several houses and didn't find any we loved so we decided to take a break over the Christmas holiday. The day after Christmas we found a house that we wanted to go check out and knew it was the one for us. It is a 5 bedroom home with a study.  Now all the boys have their own room and we have a guest room still.  This house is in a cul-de-sac and across the street to the left is the park and to the right is the park.  Perfect location.  Wesley's elementary is about a half mile walk which will be nice when the weather gets warmer.  This new home doesn't have as much land as we had with our prior home but we do have a large backyard.  We have already made a few changes to the house but have a few more we would like to do as well.  Stay tuned for posts with these changes.

9 months

The babies had their 9 month check up this month and the Dr. said everything looked great. They only got one shot this time; flu shot. This month has been rough with illnesses for the babies. Luke caught bronchitis from the church nursery. It was not fun. High fevers, throwing up coughing. Once Luke was better we made it a whole week without illness and Luke ends up getting sick again. He caught rotavirus from the church nursery; they will not be going back to the nursery for a few weeks. We had just moved into our new house and my mom came in to help unpack and help with the kids. As soon as she drove up I walked down the steps to let her in and Luke started throwing up all over me the steps and Evan. I thought it was just a fluke and it wouldn't happen again. A little while later he started doing it again and we knew it wasn't a fluke. This was on Monday, but Wednesday he was still throwing up and had horrible diapers every 5-10 minutes. Wednesday by lunch I started this lovely virus and Mark had to come home from work to help with the kids. By Wednesday night Evan, Mark and my mom had it. That night we decided to take Luke to the Emergency room because he was getting dehydrated, shaking and crying for hours. Emergency room doctor said to keep doing what we were doing and pump fluids. Thursday we took both of the babies to their dr and she had us stop all formula and food. We were to only give them pedialyte every 30 minutes; once the babies made it past 36 hours I think without throwing up we could start introducing formula back in. We eventually got over it and thankfully Wesley never got it.

Evan weighs 19.2 lbs and is 28.25 inches long.  Evan loves to take a bath and splash Wesley.  He also loves to eat, swing and go on walks. Evan loves to look at books and open and close them over and over.  He has one tooth and the second tooth is going to poke through shortly.  He does a great job at feeding himself. Some of his favorite foods are; black beans, peas, cantaloupe, crackers and chicken.  Evan can drink from a straw sippy cup at lunch and dinner.  Evan sits by Wesley in the car and loves when Wesley talks to him after school.  He smiles and laughs at him.

Luke weighs 17.7 ons and is 27.75 inches long.   Luke loves to take a bath, eat and pull up on everything.  He has one tooth and the second tooth is going to poke through shortly.  We bought a new baby swing for the swing set and try to go out when it is warm; he loves to go out and swing.  He does a great job at feeding himself. Some of his favorite foods are; black beans, peas, cantaloupe, crackers and chicken.  Luke can drink from a straw sippy cup at lunch and dinner.  Luke is crawling on his hands and knees now the majority of the time instead of doing the army crawl.

Wesley has his trampoline out in the new playroom and the babies love to pull up on it and try to climb on it.
Evan loves this music table as much as Wesley did.  In 3 short months the babies will be one!
