The Babies are here!!

Katie has been in the hospital off and on over the last few weeks for contractions.  She spent two nights in the hospital the first week of June to be observed for her contractions and swelling.  The Dr. sent her home on Tuesday night and said that the contractions are just going to continue until the babies arrive.  While there he had a tests ran to check a few things out.  We received a call on June 7th at 08:45 pm from the hospital and they said the Dr. called and planned on admitting her for delivery the next morning.  We were caught off guard because it was so late in the day and we hadn't planned to have babies the following day.
Wesley and Katie (34 weeks 4 days) the morning of the induction.

We got up and headed to the hospital on the 8th after Mark and Wesley had breakfast.  Wesley was very excited that he was going to FINALLY be a big brother.  Once we were admitted and in our room they started the pitocin to start labor.  It started contractions immediately.  The nurse checked Katie and she was at 3 cm. dilated.  The Dr. came in after lunch and broke her water and said it wouldn't be long. Around 4:30 Katie began to feel the epidural wearing off so they gave her a booster shot of epidural and checked her again.  Mark had gone down to get some dinner at this time and he got a text from Katie telling him he better quickly get back to the room because we were having babies.  The Dr. and nurses rushed us back to the Operating room where they had everyone set up and ready for the babies to be delivered.
Katie hooked up and ready for the day to begin.

He had a little trouble breathing so they wanted to watch him.  After 5 hours in the NICU his temperature was perfect and didn't have any issues breathing.  He was able to come back to our room and stay.

Evan was born first at 5:52 pm weighing in at 5 lbs 5 oz and 18 3/4 inches long.
Luke was born second at 5:55 pm weighing in at 5 lbs. 12 oz. and 19 inches long.

Summer Fun

Summer is officially here and the slip n slide is out!!  Wesley had a great time sliding a few times down it but enjoyed running through the water the best.

It was hard for Wesley to run and slide down it so Mark would have him lay down and push him down it.
I know we will have many fun afternoons cooling off playing in the water.

M & M Olympics

Wesley has been in gymnastics  for almost a year now.  Every May they have M & M Olympics; which is where the kids get to show off all that they have learned over the year. Wesley talked about this for months and was so excited to show everyone what he can do.

At the end of the class each child got to walk up on the stage and get a bag of M & M's and a trophy.
Wesley will miss Coach Corey next year.

Mother's Day 2013

I woke up on Mother's Day morning to an empty house.  Mark and Wesley were heading home from Grapevine and got home around lunch time.  As soon as Wesley got home he brought me a necklace from the Vintage Pearl that has Wesley's, Luke's and Evan's names engraved on them.  It is perfect.  The rest of the day we just played around the house, nice relaxing day.

Grapevine, TX Lego Land

In May Mark and Wesley headed to Grapevine, Texas to visit LegoLand. They headed out early Saturday morning for a day packed with fun activities.
Mark and Wes leaving.
Wesley waiting in line showing how excited he is to be at LegoLand.

Wesley making his very own lego.
He had a great time driving the police lego car around the track.
After a few hours at LegoLand Mark and Wesley rested in the hotel room watching a movie before they headed to the pool.  Wes had a great time swimming for the first time this season.
You can't go to Grapevine without taking a stop to browse Bass Pro Shop.  After Bass Pro Mark and Wesley stopped to grab dinner then headed to the hotel to sleep and get ready to head back home on Sunday.
