Christmas 2010

We were so excited to wake up on Christmas morning and see Wesley's reaction to his Santa presents. The night before we sat out chocolate chip cookies for Santa and Wesley wanted to leave Santa a "monkey drink", strawberry yogurt drink one of Wesley's favorites.
We took Wesley to see Santa at Bass Pro Shop a few weeks before Christmas. He didn't want to sit in Santa's lap so he stood next to him and told him what he wanted; leaf blower and a kitchen. When Wesley woke on Christmas morning we got him out of his bed and told him that Santa came by last night. He ran into the living room and had a huge smile on his face when he saw his kitchen and leaf blower.

As soon as Wesley opened his blower that is all he wanted to play with.

We started to open our Christmas presents and all Wes wanted to do is play with his Santa presents. We had to start opening presents and then call him over to help us.

Wesley's Uncle Chad came over to eat Christmas lunch with us and had a fun time playing with Wesley. Katie cooked her first turkey ever this Christmas, we also had party mashed potatoes, homemade macaroni and cheese, rolls and giblet gravy.
We decided not to have left overs for dinner so we had take out from Buffalo Wild Wings. Yummy!!!!!

1st Annual Gingerbread House

On Christmas Eve we had our first annual Gingerbread House construction party. Wesley had such a great time eating icing and the candies instead of putting them on the house, maybe next year he will be able to help more.

Express Clydesdale

Wesley and I had the opportunity to meet a few of our friends at the Express Clydesdale in Yukon, OK on Tuesday. Wesley was so excited to see the horses, he "neighed" the whole 40 minute drive there. It was pretty cold that morning but we braved the weather and had a great time. They brought out a beautiful horse to show us and told us interesting facts about the horses. When it came time to pet the gigantic horse Wesley wanted nothing to do with it. After they finished telling us about the horses we were able to walk around and look at several Clydesdale's and watched them get two horses ready for a show they were going to after Christmas.

We walked upstairs to the hay loft where they have parties and all their medals displayed.

Wesley was so fascinated with what the cowboys were doing to get the horses ready. He loved it when they pulled out a vacuum and started vacuuming the horses.

Looks who's 2!!!!

Wesley has learned so much in the past two years. Here are a few things that he has accomplished......

* As we drive around town Wes says the names of the stores or restaurants as we pass them.

*Wesley loves to be chased around the house and loves to chase us around the house. He will run to Mark if Katie is chasing him or vice versa and squeal the whole time he is running. He will then shake his finger and say no then tell us to do it again.

*Wesley loves to tickle us or even his stuffed animals. If you try to tickle him he takes of running from you.

*Wesley has a beach ball that he loves to run around the house and kick. He likes it when you kick it out of his hands while he is holding it.

*When we get ready to leave in the morning Wesley loves to get Max inside and pick out his treats. He tells him treat, treat, treat then throws it on Max's pillow and wants Max to lick his hand.

*Wesley doesn't like to try new foods often but sometime he will try them especially if he has his dip, dip; He loves ketchup, ranch and mustard.

*Wesley knows all of his main colors, red, blue, green, yellow, orange, black, purple and white.

*A few months back Wesley discovered Chapstick and every since then he has a few chap sticks laying around or hidden. He loves to share his chap stick with everyone including his animal friends.

*Wesley is doing much better at church. He will walk up to the church and then start crying as we go in. Once we drop him off he will cry for a little while then stop. He has made so many cute things in his class that we talk about all the time.

*Before bath time Wesley takes off his pants and socks. He can also take off his shoes and jackets.
*Wesley LOVES to pretend cook and mix when we prepare dinner. He also loves to share whatever he is making even with Max. Wesley loves to help mix muffins, cookies or whatever you will let him.

* Wesley can recognize several letters such as: o,c,t,a,i,e and m.

*Wesley loves to ride the four wheeler with Mark, but now that it has turned cold he doesn't get to as much.

*Wesley loves to play in the garage with all of Mark's tools. He became interested in Mark's tools over the summer when Mark started building his shed in the backyard.

* Wesley loves to "cheers" everything and everyone. He will say cheers, cheers and want you to cheers food, drinks and even toys.

We are so proud of Wesley and what he has learned over the past two years. It is amazing how much he learns daily. We can't wait to watch what he learns over the next year.

Happy Birthday to Wesley!!!!

We celebrated Wesley's 2nd birthday on December 11th with lots of family and friends. Wesley loves to look at and make a fire truck noise so we decided to have a fire truck themed birthday party. We told Wes that he was having a fire truck party a few weeks prior and that is all he talked about everyday.

Wesley had a great time playing with his friends; Logan, Kyndall, Talia, Connor and Haleigh.

We had a few small snacks; chicken nuggets, fruit and rolls. Katie's mom and Katie decorated cupcakes the day before.
Wesley painted his party favor bags to his friends then put stickers on them. He had a really fun time decorating them.
Connor, Haleigh and Wesley enjoying their snacks and juice boxes.
Wesley had a great time opening his presents from his friends. His favorite gift was probably the beads from Talia, he wears them all the time.

We practiced blowing out Wesley's candles a few days before his birthday. He did a great job blowing them out and was proud of himself for blowing them out.

Before Wesley's friends showed up Wesley opened his present from his Lolli and Pops, a John Deere Tractor. He loved it and couldn't wait for them to put it together before he got on it.

Thanks to our wonderful family and friends to help us make Wesley's 2nd birthday special.

Thanksgiving 2010

This Thanksgiving we flew to Mark's parents house in Texas to celebrate the holiday with his Mom and Dad. We told Wesley we were flying on an airplane to see his PaPaw and Grammie. He told everyone that he saw that he was going to fly on an airplane to see his PaPaw. Mark's sister and her family showed up along with Mark's Grandpa from Ohio. We had a great time talking with family and playing with Wesley's cousins; Charlotte and Grant. While we were there Mark, his dad and Mark's brother in law went fishing one afternoon. We didn't take one picture while we were there but had a wonderful time, we have so much to be thankful for this year.

Emily took a few pictures of our family for us, she did such a great job.

23 months

One more month to go until Wesley turns 2 years old!! We told him this month that he was going to turn two soon and that he would have a fire truck birthday party. He is so excited about his birthday party and he tells everyone about it. This month Wesley has learned a few letters; a, i, o, and t. He can tell you what they are the majority of the time.
He loves to cook, anytime we are in the kitchen cooking he gets out his pots and pans and begins to cook. If he sees that we are about to make muffins or cookies he wants a chair pulled up next to you and has to help his favorite thing to help you with is cracking eggs.
He loves to paint and wants to paint all the time. On Sunday Wesley painted at Church and he talks about it all the time. Since then Wesley has done a great job in his Sunday school class. he will walk up to the Church without crying then begins to cry as we come to the doors. After a few minutes of being in his classroom he stops crying. We are glad that he has started to like Church.
Another thing he likes to do is during bath time he helps Mark wash his hair and body. Every night Wesley and Mark ride the four wheeler around the neighborhood, he gets so excited when he hears Mark ask him if he is ready to go.

One morning Katie walked in to check on Wesley while was watching Mickey Mouse and this is what she found. He loves his sunglasses.

Ready for work.

Fire Station Tour

A few weeks ago Wesley and Katie visited the Fire station with the Edmond's Moms Club for a tour. Wesley LOVES fire trucks so we knew he would love looking and playing on the fire trucks. They took us around and showed us their kitchen, living area, beds and of course fire trucks. We had a great turn out with lots of eager kids to touch the fire trucks. Wesley was excited to get in the truck, but once the fireman tried to pick him up to put him in and he wanted nothing to do with the truck. Wesley and Spencer waiting patiently for the fireman to show us the fire trucks.
