8 months old

I can't believe in 4 short months the twins will be 1 year old. I know I say every month that it doesn't seem like it has been a month but we have been so busy this past month with selling and buying a new home.  Both Evan and Luke are on the move.  They are "army crawling" every where.  Evan is much faster than Luke but he will catch up.  Evan can start crawling and hear something in another room and do a complete circle quickly and start moving in that direction.  They are starting to talk to each other.  In the stroller they love to sit face to face and and kick each others feet and smile at each other the whole time.  Very funny. Evan and Luke still don't have any teeth, but hopefully soon they will.  Both babies are sitting up without any help now.  They both say; da da, ba da, de de and a growling noise.   Luke has started to make a very loud screech to get your attention.  They are eating finger foods a few times a day and can feed them selves the majority of the time.  They still wake up between 4:30- 5:00 am then the majority of times they go back to sleep once rocked.
 Luke weighs about 18.5 lbs.
 Evan and Luke
 Evan weighs about 20 lbs.
We wash the babies together and they try to roll over every night in the bathtub so we tried them sitting  up and they love to splash.  Once one baby is washed and gets out then Wesley gets in and he loves to have the babies splash him.  They both love it.
 Evan helping us pack boxes.
Luke sitting on the car.  He likes to have you push it around and do wheelies.

February Snow Storm

We had our first snow storm of the winter season.  The weekend before we had the storm we headed to Lowes and got a sled for Wesley.  We were not sure how Wesley would like sledding down a hill but he loved it.  Mark took him to our pond; it has a very large hill, and they loved sledding down the hill.  he wanted to do it over and over.
Evan and Luke watching Wesley play in the backyard.  Next year they will be out there playing.
Mark drug Wesley around our front yard before they headed to the pond.

We have had a few more small snow storms following this one but nothing significant.  Wes sure loves to play in the snow and throw snow balls.  He really loves to come in and have hot chocolate to help warm up.

Kick-N-Gym

We signed Wesley up for Kick-N-Gym through our gymnastics center this winter.  He started on January 15th in the afternoons.  They learn karate for 35 minutes of the class and then 25 minutes they spend working on gymnastics.  His class has about 8 boys. We are unable to watch Wesley when he is learning karate, but he comes home and shows us everything he has learned.  They have a uniform that they have to wear for the karate portion.  He already loves it and can't wait til Wednesdays.

7 months old

January 8th the babies turned 7 months old. I guess with the holidays last month it feels like they just turned 6 months.  Both babies are feeling better; thank goodness last month was rough.  The babies eat solids during breakfast, lunch and dinner.  They have a bottle in the morning before breakfast, around 10:00, 1:15 and then at bedtime.  We have started them on finger foods this month.  They eat yogurt melts, cereal puffs and crackers.  They have also started practicing using their sippy cups. Luke and Evan wake up around 5:00 am and sometime will turn on their music and go back to sleep and sometimes not.  We usually get them out  of bed around 6 or 6:30 depending on how they are acting. They usually fall asleep for their first morning nape when we are take Wesley to school and then when we go pick him up.  They take an hour and half nap in the afternoons then go to bed around 7:30pm.
The babies love to help you when you are working on the computer.  I walked away for just a second and Evan was beating on the key board when I returned.
Luke and Evan love to listen to Wesley play the guitar.  If they are fussy during the day and Mark is at work Wesley will run and find his guitar and play a song for the babies, it quiets them quickly.  Evan found Wesley's hiding spot for his guitar.
Evan trying a Mum Mum for the first time.
Luke trying a Mum Mum for the first time.
 Luke's favorite thing to do.
Luke doesn't think his feet need socks, he thinks they need to go in his mouth.
Wesley loves to help do anything with the babies.  Now that they are eating breakfast he wants to help, so one morning I let him feed Evan. He did a very good job and was very patient.

Evan loves to hold his toes when sitting up.  He is sitting up unassisted on the floor for a minute or so but still isn't able to do it for a long period of time. Evan is very close to crawling.  He will get on all fours rock and then throw himself down.  He is starting to pull himself around but not far. He says da da da da over and over and ba ba.  He loves all food that we give him.

It took a little while to get both looking at me and smiling.  It is getting harder and harder to keep them in the chair sitting still.
Luke up on all fours trying to crawl just isn't there yet.  He rocks back and forth then throws his body down and repeats over and over not going there. Luke loves to bounce in the exercauser.  He says ba ba and da da.  He loves to stick out his tongue and make noises. He is getting better at sitting but still not very confident.

Christmas 2013

This year we had Christmas early with Katie's side of the family. Chad and Christy hosted lunch this time.  We had yummy beef tenderloin, salad, asparagus corn and potatoes.  She also made a yummy homemade cheesecake.
Evan and Luke waiting to open presents after lunch.
Wesley was so excited that he got a set of wine glasses from his Aunt Christy and Uncle Chad.

Uncle Chad helping Luke open a present.
Luke and Evan's Grandma; Mema bought them these cute hats.  They didn't mind them for a minute or so then wanted them off.

A few days before Christmas we made our annual gingerbread house.  When Mark and Wesley opened the box they found that all the sides to the house were broken.  So they improvised and it turned out great.  Wesley loves to decorate these because he sneaks bites of the candy here and there.

Wesley's Pre-K class had a holiday party this year.  They sang a few songs, gave their teacher gifts and had a few snacks.

Christmas Eve morning we got the babies down and started making cookies for Santa.  We made homemade sugar cookies and then let Wesley ice them.  Wesley loves to cook in the kitchen so he was so excited when we started using the big mixer.

Grammy and Papa came over around noon that day.

Wesley loved decorating the cookies.  He would accidentally get icing on his fingers so that he could lick it off.
This was Santa's cookie.  They made it extra big so he would have enough to eat.
We left the babies with Grammy and Papa and headed to Christmas Eve Church service that afternoon.  When we got back and had dinner it was time to get the reindeer food scattered on the front lawn.
Evan and I watched from inside as Wesley put out his reindeer food.
Wesley gathered Santa's cookies and celery for the reindeer and had to taste Santa's milk before he headed off to bed.

Wesley was soo excited that Christmas morning was finally here.  Once we got all the presents distributed to everyone he had to be the first to open a present.  Santa brought Wesley a beam box; which is a gaming system for the Transformer Rescue bots.

Luke and Evan playing with one of their new toys.
Santa brought the twin a car to play in and they both love it.

Wow what a busy day.  We are very blessed to have such a great family.  Can't wait to see what the new year has in store for us.
