Christmas 2013

This year we had Christmas early with Katie's side of the family. Chad and Christy hosted lunch this time.  We had yummy beef tenderloin, salad, asparagus corn and potatoes.  She also made a yummy homemade cheesecake.
Evan and Luke waiting to open presents after lunch.
Wesley was so excited that he got a set of wine glasses from his Aunt Christy and Uncle Chad.

Uncle Chad helping Luke open a present.
Luke and Evan's Grandma; Mema bought them these cute hats.  They didn't mind them for a minute or so then wanted them off.

A few days before Christmas we made our annual gingerbread house.  When Mark and Wesley opened the box they found that all the sides to the house were broken.  So they improvised and it turned out great.  Wesley loves to decorate these because he sneaks bites of the candy here and there.

Wesley's Pre-K class had a holiday party this year.  They sang a few songs, gave their teacher gifts and had a few snacks.

Christmas Eve morning we got the babies down and started making cookies for Santa.  We made homemade sugar cookies and then let Wesley ice them.  Wesley loves to cook in the kitchen so he was so excited when we started using the big mixer.

Grammy and Papa came over around noon that day.

Wesley loved decorating the cookies.  He would accidentally get icing on his fingers so that he could lick it off.
This was Santa's cookie.  They made it extra big so he would have enough to eat.
We left the babies with Grammy and Papa and headed to Christmas Eve Church service that afternoon.  When we got back and had dinner it was time to get the reindeer food scattered on the front lawn.
Evan and I watched from inside as Wesley put out his reindeer food.
Wesley gathered Santa's cookies and celery for the reindeer and had to taste Santa's milk before he headed off to bed.

Wesley was soo excited that Christmas morning was finally here.  Once we got all the presents distributed to everyone he had to be the first to open a present.  Santa brought Wesley a beam box; which is a gaming system for the Transformer Rescue bots.

Luke and Evan playing with one of their new toys.
Santa brought the twin a car to play in and they both love it.

Wow what a busy day.  We are very blessed to have such a great family.  Can't wait to see what the new year has in store for us.

Wesley's 5!!!

On Sunday, December 22nd Wesley turned 5.  It seems like the past 5 years have pasted by so quickly. He woke up to find his hallway decorated and the kitchen table decorated. Wesley wanted to keep it up for over a week.

Before we headed to church that morning there were a few small presents for him to open. His Uncle Cody, Aunt Anna and cousins sent him a ninjago lego and movie.  He loves legos.

For breakfast Mark made him pancakes with sprinkles and chocolate chips and a side of bacon.

Wesley's 5th birthday party

This year we celebrated Wesley's 5th birthday party at Bouncin Craze.  He had several friends come to celebrate his birthday. When he woke up he was so excited to see presents waiting for him to open from us and Katie's parents and cousins.
This is one of his favorite presents from his party.

He loves to do science experiments so we got him a science experiment book.  He was very excited and wanted to do one.

Every year we let a few balloons go with our email address and hope that someone will find them and email us.
Watching the balloons go up in the air. We are so proud of Wesley and all the things he has learned.

6 months old

The past 6 months have flown by and the babies have gone from quiet non mobile babies to babbling moving babies.  The boys are starting to make out the "b" and "d" sounds.  They still love to mimic you when you stick out your tongue. We started the babies on solids in the morning for breakfast.  They have tried banana, peach, mango, pears and apples with cinnamon.  They haven't meet a fruit they didn't care for yet.  At night they are still eating their veggies.  Two of their favorites are butternut squash with carrots, apples and cinnamon and Sweet potato with leek, spinach and peas.

You can put the babies at opposite ends of the room and turn around and find them rolling across each other.
We went for a walk down to our neighborhood park one day before it turned cold.  Luke and Evan enjoyed watching Wesley ride his bike along side us.  They can't wait to play on the park as well.

Evan has found his feet and loves to hold on to his toes.  He tested positive with the flu.  Thankfully it was a mild case and didn't last long.  He is starting to rock back and forth on his hands and knees.  When he is in the bath he loves to splash the water.  Laughs so hard at Wesley when he is acting funny.   He is working on sitting up by himself but hasn't mastered it yet. At the doctor this check up Evan weighed 17.13 lbs (80 percentile) and was 26.50 inches long (70 percentile).
Luke has found his feet and loves to hold on to his toes. He had his first tummy bug that lasted for a very long time; 9 days.  We had to end up switching up a few things in his diet to help correct it.  He is now holding his body up in the bear position.  It wont be long before he is crawling or even walking.  We are working on sitting up by himself but he hasn't mastered it yet.  He loves to splash Wesley in the bathtub. At the doctor this check up Luke weighed 16.8 lbs (50 percentile) and was 25.75 inches (40 percentile).

Thanksgiving 2013

We traveled to Midland to celebrate Thanksgiving with Katie's family this year.  Since Luke and Evan don't care for the car we decided to fly.  We left on the day before Thanksgiving.  Wesley watched movies the whole flight and Luke and Evan ate and napped.  Lolli and Pops picked us up and headed to their home when we had many visitors come by and see the kids. We are glad we went and visited family.

First Thanksgiving as a family of 5.
You can't visit Midland without a trip to Rosas and Taco Villa.  Evan had to see what all the hype was about.

5 months

The twins turned 5 months old on November 8th.

Luke seems to be more laid back than Evan. He loves to blow bubbles with his spit.  He is finally beginning to enjoy the car and not cry as much.  Loves to suck his thumb. His hair is getting much longer.  One of his favorite foods I make is butternut squash, carrots and apples sprinkled with cinnamon. He loves to roll everywhere. He is beginning to get up on his knees but hasn't figured out how to lift his head yet.

Evan has a very loud pitched squeal he lets out every once in a while. He is finally beginning to enjoy the car and not cry as much.  His hemangioma is starting to decrease in size. He loves butternut squash, carrots and apples sprinkled with cinnamon.  He enjoys sitting in the exercauser. He is scooting along the floor with his face down.
Luke and Evan playing on the floor.

Evan loves Max. He laughs when he walks by him.

They are growing up too fast.
