4 months old

The babies turned 4 months last week.  They are changing in their appearances and behaviors every week.  Here are a few things they can do at 4 months.

Evan loves to talk after he finishes his bottle.  He will sit and smile and coo, he loves when you talk to him. He has lost all but a small patch of hair from his cradle cap.  He wears size 6-month clothes but before to long he will be wearing 9 months.  He shoves his whole hand in his mouth instead of his thumb.  He laughed on September 1st for the first time during his middle of the night feeding but wouldn't laugh for us again until September 21st. He takes many catnaps in the morning but usually has a 2 or 3 hr nap in the afternoon. He goes to bed about 8:15 and will sleep til 2 or 3 then take a bottle and go back to sleep.  He can grab for toys that are on his play mat. He loves to stick his tongue and wants you to do it back to him.

Luke lost a lot of his hair when his cradle cap went away. He wears size 6-month clothes.  He found his thumb, which has been very nice.  He rolled over from tummy to back on September 21st but we can't get him on video. He laughes when he "rides the horsey'.  Luke takes many catnaps in the morning but usually has a 2 or 3 hr nap in the afternoon. He goes to bed about 8:15 and will sleep til 2 or 3 then take a bottle and go back to sleep.  He grabs for toys that are on his play mat.

They went to the doctor on October 23rd and Evan weighed 16.2 lbs and was 24 inches long; Luke weighed 15.1 lbs and was 25 inches long. Both are very healthy and right on track.

Meeting the Pioneer Woman

For those of you who don't know Wesley LOVES watching The Pioneer Woman on the Food channel.   He use to love to watch her cook but now I think he loves it for the rounding up of cattle and other farm duties.  Wesley has two of her children's books she has written and loves to read them often.  When I heard she was coming to a bookstore in Edmond I knew that we had to take him to meet her. He always talks about going to her house and cooking with her and rounding up cattle with Lad and Cowboy Josh.
One morning bright and early 6:20 to be exact Wesley decided to get dressed put on his cowboy boots and hat and head out to the backyard to go round up cattle on his ranger. Little did he know as soon as he opened the back door the house alarm would go off.  Needless to say Mommy and Daddy were not happy.
Waiting in line to meet the Pioneer Woman.  We were number 17 to see her. The book store was packed and extremely hot, but we had fun.

First session of soccer

Wesley's first season of soccer started this month.  He has many friends on his team and so far really enjoys it. This league has practice before their games which is very nice.
The team is getting their jerseys from the coach.

Wesley showing off his ninja moves during the game. During the first game Wesley mainly ran with the crowd but as he gets the hang of the game we know he will get in the crowd and get the ball.
Wesley's Aunt Christy came to watch his very first soccer game.

3 Months Old

The babies turned 3 months old on September 8th. They are changing almost daily.  They smile more and more every day and are starting to coo as well. They are wearing size 3-6 month clothes.

This month they didn't go to the dr but Evan probably weighs 15 lbs and Luke 13 lbs. They both have craddle cap; Luke's seems worse than Evans.

They still eat every 3 hours.  They go to bed around 8:30 pm and wake up around 3 or 4 am for a bottle then go back to sleep until around 7 am. With Wesley going to Pre K it is hard for the babies to nap in the morning. They have a good 3 hour nap in the afternoon. Evan loves to stick his tongue out and loves when we do it back to him. Both Luke and Evan would prefer to be sitting up than laying down.

The babies don't dislike tummy time but they would rather sit up instead.  They are starting to acknowledge each other more and more.

First Day of Pre K!!

Today was Wesley's first day of pre k.  He was excited and anxoius to go.  He woke up Tuesday morning to balloons attached to his door and a breakfast party waiting for him.  Mark stayed home to go with us to drop Wesley off and to make him his favorite breakfast; bacon and chocolate chip pancakes with sprinkles.
Here is Wesley's first day of Pre-K sign and a questionnaire for Wesley to answer when he gets home from school.
 Playing with balloons before breakfast.
First annual first day of school breakfast.
Waiting patiently to eat his breakfast.
We hope he loves school as much as he loved Mother's Day Out.

Two Month's Old!!

Another month has flown by and the babies are two months old! The babies are growing and changing daily.  The babies went to the dr today and they have grown so much since they were born.  She said they were right were they needed to be.  The Dr said not to leave the babies on a surface up high because she expects them to be rolling over soon with how well they are raising themselves up.

Evan weighed in at 12 lbs 10 oz. and 22 inches long
Luke weighed in at 11 lbs 14 oz.  and 22 inches long
Evan

Luke

Both babies are starting to:

*smile more
*wear size 3 month clothes
*stay awake more during the day.  2-3 hours in the morning and 2 hours or so in the afternoon/evening.
*sleeping in their own crib during the day and at night.
*eat every 3-4 hours.  At night they go to bed around 9:00 and sleep until 2:30 or so then go back to
sleep and wake up around 6 am.
* nurse for a little while then have a 4 oz. bottle.
* raise their bodies up during tummy time.  Luke enjoys tummy time more than Evan.  They can raise
their head and look around while you are holding him.
*enjoy sitting outside at night.  After dinner every night we head outside to play with Wesley and the
babies love to sit in their bouncy seat and look around listening to the locus.
Wesley loves his brothers.  After they eat he will sit next to them and talk to them for just a second.  He can't wait for them to get big enough to play.
Evan napping after a long morning of running errands.
Wesley doesn't ask to feed the babies ever and one morning he asked to help feed Luke.  It only took two seconds and he was ready to play with his toys.
 Evan enjoying the outside noises.
Luke relaxing outside.

Road Trip

Some people thought we were crazy when we told them we were driving to Midland when the babies were 5 weeks old.  My brother, Cody was getting married on July 19th and we didn't want to miss it.  The babies finished eating around 6 am on Thursday so we loaded up and headed out early.  All of the kids did wonderful.  Wesley watched movies and played on the Ipad the whole time.  The babies slept the majority of the time.  We had to stop twice to feed them.

On Friday morning the guys headed out to shoot sporting clays.  Kay and Christy went to help set up the reception area for the wedding.  I stayed home with Luke, Evan, Madi and Wesley.  Madison and Wesley love to play with each other and of course have Oreo's.
We had many guest come by that wanted to meet the babies.  This is Katie's moms Aunt, Pat holding Luke.
We had a great time at the wedding!
