First bikeride

We finally bought a chair for Wesley to sit in while we ride our bikes. We weren't sure what he would think of it or how he would react. We were sure that he would have a fit and sure enough he lost it when Mark place him in his seat. After we got him strapped in Mark put his hat on and he was screaming even louder. As soon as he got it buckled I took off and Wesley was absolutely fine, he loved it. We rode for about 30 minutes and he did great.

Hi Daddy.

Watermelon

One of Wesley's favorite fruits is watermelon. We bought a watermelon this weekend and I left some on the rhine. He loved it and he wouldn't give it to anyone.

4th of July 2010

We had a very wet July 4th this year, it rained the majority of the weekend but it didn't stop us from having fun. Katie's parents came in town to visit. We woke up on Saturday and got ready for the parade. We didn't go to Edmond's parade last year so we didn't know what to expect. We arrived about 20 minutes early and it was packed. Two hours later the parade was over, it was the longest parade we have ever watched.
Ready for the parade
Wesley ended up falling asleep after about an hour of watching the parade. Thank goodness the firetrucks were at the beginning of the parade.

Christy made a patriotic cake for us to enjoy. It was very good. Thanks Christy.

Everyone is playing with Wesley in the livingroom after returning from the parade and lunch.
Mark is showing Wesley how to hold the sparkler.

Wesley loved the sparklers.

Mark bought a few firecrackers to set off. He wanted to set a few off before Wesley went to sleep, but Wes wanted nothing to do with them.
When we woke up this morning it was raining so of course a little boy must play in the mud. At first he was stomping in the mud then decided that he needed to sit down and kick it.

Our neighborhood has a wonderful weekend long Independence day celebration. Starting Saturday they start off having a parade for the kids to show off their bikes which is followed by games for the kids to enjoy. On Sunday they had a lawn mower race and a BBQ with fireworks that follow. We had the best seat in the neighborhood in our backyard.

18 months

Happy 18 months to Wesley!!!He is getting so big he is now 25.5 lbs. and 33 1/2 inches tall. The Dr. said he is right on schedule with everything. We don't have to see the Dr. again until he is two years old. He only had to get one shot this time which was very nice. Wesley only has two more teeth to come through on the bottom before he will be finished, well at least until he gets his two year molars in.

He loves to read, he has many favorites but a few this month are Brown Bear Brown Bear What do You See? and White Rabbit's Color Book. We think his favorite color is bbuu, or blue. He know red, yellow, blue and sometimes green.

Wesley loves to be outside. He will wake up at 6 am requesting to go outside. A few things he loves to do while outside; draw with chalk on the back porch, play with bubbles, push his car, and swing.

Over the last few weeks Wesley has been picking up words like crazy. I talk to him about everything we do during the day and he will pick up or try to say at least one word. A few new words he learned this month was tea, hotdog and birthday.

We meet up with a friend of ours at an indoor playground. When we were leaving to go home I realized they had an area for the kids to paint. I have wanted to have Wesley paint a picture for a while to put up in his playroom so I put a shirt on him and let him go. He tried to eat the paint once but realized that it didn't taste so yummy. He really enjoyed painting and we hope to do it again sometime soon.
Mark and Wesley went to the park one morning and were there for only a few minutes before Wesley took a fall and slid on the concrete. He had a scratched up knee, nose, cheek and forehead.
A few days later Wes and I went to the park and he did the same thing. He scratched the other knee twice and palm. Playing in his playroom
We bought Wes a t-ball set when he turned 18 months. He loves to hit the ball and put it back on .

Looking for squirrels to chase at the park.
Over the past few months Wesley has been hitting his head on purpose on the back of his high chair so we bought him a new booster chair that straps on our dining room chair so he can eat at the table with us. I think he enjoys eating with us.

Dancing with excitement because he is outside.
One afternoon I couldn't find Wesley anywhere so I went in the kitchen and found him playing in the cabinets.
We started gymnastics this month. We have only gone once but it is every Friday for 45 minutes. He was a little over whelmed the first time we went but I am sure he will do better after we have gone a few times.

Firecracker fun

Since it is firecracker season we decided to buy some poppers for Wesley. He loves to throw them down and wait for them to pop. He laughs every time and requests another one.

Watching Mark show him how to make them pop, but not letting go of his chalk.
Just threw one down.
still not letting his chalk go...

Omniplex Museum

It has been extremely hot here for the last few weeks, so we took Wesley to the Omniplex Museum in Oklahoma City. They have several different activities for the kids to explore. Wesley enjoyed playing and running the whole morning.

Wes enjoyed pushing a button to make the hot air balloon go up and down.
Mark riding on the segway.

He enjoyed watching and listening to the trains.
sitting on the canon
Wesley doing his "Major Kong" impression...google it...

There was a gymnastics area for the kids to play on. Wesley loved running around and falling on the gym mats.

Family Pictures 2010

For Father's Day we meet Katie's brother and his girlfriend at the park to take pictures to give to Katie's dad. As soon as we arrived Wesley feel asleep so we let him sleep for a few minutes before we had our photo shoot. They turned out great but Wesley wouldn't sit still long enough to take many.
