Two and Half Years Old!!

WOW 2 1/2 already?? Over the past few months Wesley has started talking more and more. Sometimes Mark and myself will look at each other and say he has been talking no stop for the past hour. We love this because he can communicate so much better with us.

Wesley still loves to swing and wants you to push him, higher and higher each time.

*Some of Wesley's favorite phrases are:
NO Way
No problem
One minute
O tay Momma or Daddy

*He knows every letter in the alphabet and can count to 11. He also knows a few shapes: circle, triangle, octagon, square and rectangle.

*Wesley loves to help Mark mow the grass on the riding lawn mower.

*He still loves to play outside no matter how hot it is outside.

*Wesley enjoys reading his favorite books over and over and over again.

*He also is becoming a better colorer. He use to color all over the page but now he finds a picture and colors it.
Wesley also loves to have picnics outside. We would have them more often if it wasn't over 100 degrees outside every night.

In the month of June Max and Mark had a birthday, so Wesley has been singing Happy Birthday since then. He thinks it is so fun. This is the first song that Wesley has ever sung before.

Wesley still loves to paint he finally let me paint his hand to make a hand print. I have tried several times over the past months to do this and am so glad that he will do it now. He loves to paint his arms and hands.

In June Wesley had a friend over and he started dancing and being silly, he ended up hurting his foot. Katie heard a pop and he immediately started crying. So she picked him up and moved it around it seemed to be okay, but he wouldn't walk on it at all. They next day he continued to not walk on it so we took him to the dr. They tried to get an x ray but he wouldn't stay still for that long. We decided to watch him over the weekend to see if he would walk on it before we tried x ray's again. He refused to walk on his foot and chose to scoot everywhere. He couldn't ride on the lawn mower or four wheeler with Mark and he was fine with that. On Monday Katie called dr and she wanted to get an x ray so we took him to the hospital and then meet with the pediatrician that afternoon. He didn't have a break or fracture so she wanted to get a body scan to see what it could be. Katie told him that he was going to have to go to the dr and get a shot; blood work for the body scan; and asked him if he wanted to try to walk. He decided that he would try. He walked off and on for the next few days with a limp and decided that his foot was o tay. We are so glad he is walking again and there was nothing wrong but a sprang.
We can't wait to see what he does over the next 6 months.

Perfect outing for a little boy

Katie and Wesley meet a few friends; Logan and Eli at the Railway Museum in Oklahoma City this morning. They had a few of the trains open where the boys could run and climb on them. They had a great time and the weather was perfect.

Easter weekend 2011

We flew out on Thursday to spend Easter weekend at Mark's parents house. Wesley loved riding the tram at Houston airport and did a great job on the airplane ride. We had a few hours to spend with Grammy and Papaw before Mark's sister's family arrived. Wesley talked about his Uncle Matt for a few weeks prior to seeing him. When we woke up on Friday morning we got ready and headed to Sea World in San Antonio.

Checking out the fish.
Wesley got so excited when we passed by the carousel, so of course he had to ride it.

After a few hours at Sea World Wesley was exhausted. He picked out a seal for a souvenir and decided it would be a great pillow.

On Saturday morning we got up and colored Easter eggs. This was Wesley's first time to color eggs and he enjoyed dropping the egg in the cup. Grant, Charlotte, Grammy and Wesley had a great time coloring the eggs.

Saturday morning we went down and rode the choo choo. Wesley had a great time riding the train with his cousins.

Waiting for the train to start.

On Sunday morning we woke up had breakfast then got dressed and headed out for an egg hunt. Wesley was very excited when I told him we were Easter egg hunting and Grammy and Papaws.

The Easter bunny hid an egg under the pillow in the hammock.

Moms club egg hunt

On Monday Wesley and Katie meet up with the Moms club to have our Easter egg hunt. We meet at one of Wesley's favorite parks, Duck park. While the eggs were being hid the kids ran around waiting.

Waiting patiently .....

Connor and Wesley found a huge stick to play with
Ready set go!!!!!

Man it is hard to get a picture of a rowdy 2 year old. You take what you can get.
Wesley and Spencer enjoying some of the yummy treats from our eggs.
After the egg hunt was over we walked over to the park and of course Wesley wanted to swing for 30 minutes, then got down and playing on a few of the toys before we had to go.

Big boy bed

When Wesley and Katie got back from visiting Lolli and Pops in March, Mark had converted Wesley's crib into his toddler bed. Wesley did great sleeping at Lolli and Pops so we hoped it carried over to our house. So far he has done a great job with staying in his bed and sleeping during his naps. He will wake up in the morning and wait a few minutes before he climbs out of bed and runs into our room to wake us up.

When Wesley's friend come over to play he takes them back to his room and they always end up playing his bed.

Visiting Pops and Lolli

Wesley and Katie flew to Midland to visit family and celebrate Wesley's cousin, Madison's 2nd birthday. A week before they left Katie told Wesley that they were going to Pops' house and all he said the rest of the week was Pops, tractor, on. As soon as they got to their house Wesley wanted to go outside and play on the tractor. Of course his Pops put him right on it and drove him around.
On Friday we went to the duck pond and feed the ducks then came home and played until Madison came over for the weekend. On Saturday we woke up and made pancakes then headed to the park. Wesley had a great time seeing his cousins and family during the party. We had a great time while at Lolli and Pops and had a lot of great food.

Katie's parents bought Wesley a "big boy bed" for him to sleep in . This was the first time he had slept in a big boy bed and he did wonderful.
Wesley loved to help Pops feed all the animals every night.

Madison loves to swing with her boots on . Too cute.

Orr Family Farm

We visited the Orr Family Farm one morning with our friends Eli and Sami. The last time we were there Wesley fell and busted his chin open on the carousel and we had to go to the hospital and get him fixed up. I told Mark that I would not allow Wesley to climb on the toy carousel, and the first thing Wesley wanted to get on was the toy carousel. We feed the farm animals and Wesley had a great time feeding the pigs. When we finished feeding the animals we rode the Choo Choo train and Wesley loved it. Wesley also enjoyed playing in the dirt with Eli. I think they could have played there for hours if we let them. Before we left we rode the carousel, I didn't know if Wesley would enjoy this or not and he had a great time.
