Building update #2

Last weekend we were able to work on the building and get all the walls up. Katie's brother came over and helped Mark assemble the walls. It took the guys the majority of the day to cut, assemble and put up the walls. We worked on cutting and assembling the truss a few nights after dinner the week before. Wesley was a great help during this process. Wesley has his own drill so he can help out whenever needed.
Helping uncle Chad secure the wall.

Max resting on one of the walls.
Time to put up the truss before the rain hits.

Boo Boo

A few Friday's ago Wesley and I meet up with friends at the Orr Family Farm. We arrived a little early and visited the horse. Wesley loved to pet the horse and "neigh" at him. Once our friends arrived we headed into the farm. After a short photo shoot while all the kids we headed to the train ride. The train was full so we decided to wait for the next train. They had a horse carousel that Wesley loved to get on. He played on the carousel for about 5 minutes, switching back and forth from one horse to the other, when he tripped on the pole sticking out of the center and hit his chin on it. When I picked him up to check out the cut it didn't look that bad, but once I cleaned up the blood I discovered it was worse than I thought. Thanks to all our wonderful friends they gathered up band-aids and more wipes to clean him up. As soon as we got a band-aid on his chin we called Mark to tell him to meet us at the OU Children's ER.

Once we arrived to the children's hospital we signed in and they got us right in. By this time Wesley was so tired from crying for an hour and hurting. We ended up getting his boo boo glued together after two hours of signing in. Wesley didn't enjoy this at all. Wesley slept 20 minutes on the way home then cried the remaining 20 minutes.

When we got home we laid around on the couch and watched a few of his favorite shows. The first few days Wesley didn't mess with the glue at all, he might touch it and say boo boo then whine but thankfully he doesn't pick at it. Wesley hasn't slept well since this happened so we are sure it is uncomfortable.

I was unable to get a picture of Wesley's boo boo when he had the glue on it, because I didn't want to draw attention to it. So when it feel off on Tuesday, 4 days after, I had him to say cheese while in the bath and you can see a little of the boo boo under his chin. Not a very good picture but you can still see some of it. A week and a half later he is still talking about it and is starting to rub it so it must be healing.

Hopefully this will be our last visit to the ER.

Driving

Since it is getting dark outside earlier now Mark is working in the garage building a few things for his building. Mark and Wesley pulled the car out of the garage and Wesley helped Mark drive it down the street. He stayed in the car for about 30 minutes playing with anything he could get his hands on.
Changing gears
HHOOOOONNNNKKKKKKK!!!!
Changing the music to E I E I O.

Martin Nature Center

On Thursday afternoon we went to the Martin Nature Center with some friends from our MOMS club. Wesley loved to pick up all the rocks along the trails. We walked for an hour and half, hopefully everyone will sleep well tonight.
Wesley saw this snake and decided to sit down next to it. As soon as he did the snake turned his head to look at Wes and he didn't like that at all.
Running across a bridge.
I wanted to get a picture of Wesley with his friends but he wanted no of that. Wesley, Spencer, Elizabeth and Eli.

Krispy Kreme Tour

Wesley and I met our friends and went on a Krispy Kreme tour with our Moms club. We were told that it would take 30 minutes and we would have to hold our kids because of the hot equipment. Thank goodness it only lasted about 15 minutes. After the tour the kids got to decorate a donut and then enjoy it. Here are a few pictures from the tour.
Wesley refused to wear the hat.
playing with the balloon.
Yummy, he didn't care for the chocolate donut so he ate the whole glazed donut.

21 months

Wow we only have three more months until Wesley turns 2! We can't believe how much he is picking up daily, I know we say that every month but he is learning new words daily. We had our last popsicle for the summer at the lake so now Wesley thinks it is so funny to say ba boo or popsicle all the time. He will say it anytime we are getting ready to go play outside or even ask if animals have them then laughs.
We started going to church every Sunday this month. Wesley begins to cry as soon as we drive up to church. He has his good days (not crying the whole service) to bad days (crying the whole time).
Wesley has been eating at the table with us so he has been eating off a plate. He loves to get out his plate and fork. This month Wesley has began to climb up the ladder on his swing set. He loves to put grass or rocks at the bottom of the slide and then slide down into it. During bath this month Mark has taught Wesley how to close his eyes really really tight. It is so funny to watch.
Mark went to Bass Pro Shop one day before we went to the lake. He saw this Mickey Mouse fishing pole and thought Wesley had to have it. Wesley loves to push it around the house.
Wesley learned how to climb in the dining room chairs. When I tell him Daddy is on his way home he pulls out the chair and says, sit, sit, sit.

Oklahoma State Fair 2010

This weekend we went to the Oklahoma State Fair with Katie's brother and his fiance. When we first arrived it was nice and cool outside but an hour into it the temperature began to rise fast. Wesley enjoyed looking at the livestock and walking around, there was so much for him to see. There are so many different fried foods at the fair; snickers, butter, Oreo's, etc. We looked at the new 2011 cars and found a few we liked.

Wesley riding on an old tractor.
We knew Wesley wouldn't enjoy sitting on the the horse, but we made him anyways. He wanted off fast.
We wanted to play a game while we were at the fair so Wesley could win a stuffed animal. He enjoys playing with fishing poles, so we knew he would enjoy this game. He had to catch two sharks and could pick an animal. He chose a monkey as his prize.
Wesley loves eating corn dogs so that is what he had for lunch. It must have been delicious because he ate every bit of it.

Wesley obviously had a wonderful time because he came home and took a three hour nap. We had to wake him up so he would sleep tonight.
